About the Workshop

This program will provide information on an evidence based approach to working with youth who are court involved. It will provide an overview of the juvenile justice system, with specific focus on the New Orleans and Baton Rouge juvenile court systems. We will also present about the Positive Youth Development Model and how this model can be utilized to support youth. The presentation aims to help social workers and community members understand how to keep youth out of the court system and how to support youth if they do become involved.
