Trauma is widespread and can affect many areas of life. In this presentation, we will explore:
- • The history of identifying trauma
- • How to define trauma
- • Understanding the ACE study
- • How trauma affects the biological and neurological systems
- • How trauma impacts the survivor
- • Learning trauma-informed care principles
- • Peer Support Specialist
The educational goal of this workshop is to learn how to identify trauma, learn about adverse childhood experiences and how they can impact individuals later in life, learn about how trauma manifests behaviorally and cognitively, and how to apply trauma-informed care principles to our work.
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

Identify at least 2 ways how trauma affects the biological and neurological systems.
