This presentation, facilitated by Sandra Brackenridge, LCSW and seasoned veteran Veterinary Social Worker, will showcase a dynamic panel interview delving into the experiences, challenges, successes, and perspectives of multiple Veterinary Social Workers (VSWs) embedded in private emergency and specialty animal hospitals.

The educational goal of this workshop is to offer invaluable insights into the distinctive role of VSWs within this specialized environment; panelists will explore various facets of their profession, sharing firsthand experiences and professional insights.
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

Describe the roles, responsibilities and perspectives of Veterinary Social Workers (VSWs) within private (corporate and non-corporate-owned) emergency and specialty animal hospitals.

Identify at least three kinds of challenges and successes encountered by VSWs on a daily basis within the environment of their hospitals.

Summarize the organizational and systemic factors that impact the workflow and job satisfaction of VSWs within the unique context of emergency and specialty animal hospitals.
