Quality of Life and End of Life discussions are some of the most difficult in the veterinary profession. This workshop will provide the tools to make discussions more comfortable for clients, veterinary staff and VSW. The role and limitations of a VSW will be explored in an interactive presentation.

The educational goal of this workshop is that attendees will be able to have quality of life and end of life discussions and knowledge to support clients in the last days of the lives of their pets.
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

Summarize how to facilitate discussions with clients regarding the Quality of Life of their pets

Provide at least 3 resources for clients regarding QOL, pet loss, and grief.

Explain the role of the Veterinary Social Worker at the end of life of pets.
