The educational goal of this workshop is to provide information of the efficacy of AAS in Autism and social work interventions.
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

Explain 3-4 research-backed benefits of AAI/AAS in improving social, emotional, and behavioral outcomes for individuals with ASD.

Describe the unique role animals play in facilitating communication and reducing anxiety.

Summarize how veterinary social workers can effectively collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support the successful integration of AAI/AAS in ASD interventions.

Explain 3-4 practical strategies for monitoring and enhancing animal well-being during AAI/AAS sessions.

Identify 3-4 signs of stress in therapy animals.

Summarize best practices for their care and management throughout the intervention process.
