Caregiving is not something many couples anticipate entering into their relationship and they encounter complex and paradoxical emotions when faced with the unique challenges caregiving brings. This training will equip participants with the ability to understand the dynamics of caregiving and how those dynamics shape and stretch relationships. This training will also focus on support and strategies for caregivers.

The educational goal of this workshop is to prepare helping professionals understand the experience of caregivers as well as develop coping strategies to use with caregivers.
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

Identify at least three challenges that caregiving can have on a relationship.

Describe two strategies for couples navigating the stress and unpredictability of caregiving.

Identify 3-5 self-care tools useful for caregivers.
