Spirituality is an important concept to incorporate in counseling sessions. This is true across the lifespan, but a topic often neglected at the end of life and in older adulthood. The intersection of spirituality and end of life brings specific ethical considerations. These ethical considerations include the ethical responsibility of cultural sensitivity, awareness of counselor beliefs and bias regarding spiritual beliefs regarding death and dying, and the need for consultation and collaboration.
