About the Workshop
Content Level: Beginner
Sexual violence is an epidemic that affects each and every one of us. 1 in 5 women and 1 in 33 men will experience rape in their lifetime. Sexual assault can lead to PTSD, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and lasting physical health issues. Professionals in all settings must be able to comfortably discuss sexual violence, which is still a taboo topic in our society. This presentation will discuss the root causes of sexual violence and how it affects individual clients using an anti-oppression framework.
